Staple Pinn's Tale

Reaching times of stops and turns,
Of reminiscence and fervour;
Of days past love, loss and contemplation.

These times they often make wonder,
A crowd among the hordes, outnumbered.
Amid ashen falls and dark rainbows, they stand;
As in droplets, life washes away.
Fading. Like smudged kohl,
Around darting glitter beams.

And days of breathtaking dusk,
Sown by paddy fields of memory,
Encased in hope by frame.
Dreams seen, and felt,
Withering roses belt;
Profound to touch,
Resurrecting me from living, alive.

Held hands, wore promises;
Believed nothing more,
Adorned none other.
Time has passed, it seems;
But somewhere we slipped,
And now lay frozen
In it's blizzard of the past.

Hear me out, I tell you when,
I have loved you and none other.
Memories they last
Like picture in the mind,
Forgettable, Ignored;
A trophy lost sight of.

Was it here, marked this hour,
We were to say goodbye?
Or was it the act of imaginings,
Of the state of mind,
Absolved in ordeal.

Remember, try,
That we once were living,
And once we loved.
And short may have been
Our time, together,
But were happy.

Remember Us as we were,
Bare, soul for soul;
Together, by midnight snow,
Glimmering against the tepid yellow glare
Of night light on a polka-dotted sky.

And image of mother earth, caught old and grey,
Reaching out to touch the multicolour array
Of distant cosmic light.

Happy as we were,
To be, to breathe,
Blooming in scarlet gardens,
Of affection, possession
And not bereaved.

My heart aches to bid farewell,
But we are on carpets, with none truths to tell;
Flying into gallows of
'Once upon a time' moments,
Oh so soon, but we lust to last?

I am glad our paths crossed,
And we met on dreamy tracks of destiny;
You will always be an angel, for me,
Sunshine streaming through my reality.
And I will forever remember you
As a breathtaking time of my life.

Life apart wasn't life at all,
Dreams we dreamt
Have rewound into cassette boxes.
To keep living in burrows of past hour,
Latent senses, fading slowly;
Through amnesia, into eclipse.

I'm glad we were.
